Sapodilla Leaves

Sapodilla or as it is known scientifically, Manilkara zapota, is particularly popular in the Caribbean where it also goes by the name naseberry. Because of its extremely sweet and malty flavor, the fruit is used in food and beverages. The sap was used for gum and the seed oil for hair care and facial products. The leaves, fruit and bark is valued for its numerous medicinal purposes and for its sedative, antidiabetic, antioxidant and anti-inflammation properties.
